MALAYSIAN CRIMES, MYSTERIES AND PARANORMAL

  1. 2018 Malaysia Methanol poisonings:  45 people reported dead by Ministry of Health due to Methanol Poisonings occured in September 2018 in 3 states and 2 Federal Territories comprising Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Perak and Negeri Sembilan. Most of the victims were foreign workers from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Myanmar and Nepal. 
  2. 99 Door Mansion: at Nibong Tebal,Seberang Perai, Penang > officially known as Caledonia Mansion or Calonia House, built in 1917 and has a reported 99 doors. It is currently abandoned and decrepit building known for its eerie legends, including whispers of a hidden 100th door. Belong to a wealthy British Ramston familyof planters, it was abandoned after the murder of the eldest son in 1948.  
  3. Abdul Jalil bin IbrahimDeputy General Manager of Bank Bumiputera Finance. On 21 July 1983, he was found dead in his clothes and judo belt in a banana plantation, Taipo Kau in Hong Kong territory. This murder led to the exposure of the BMF Scandal.Jalil's murder has not been solved as the real brain behind the killing has not been brought to justice.
  4. Abdul Rahman Hashim, Tan Sri: Malaysia's Inspector General of Police, he was assassinated by 2 gunmen on one of Kuala Lumpur's busiest streets in broad daylight on June 7, 1974. Until today, the identity of the 2 gunmen remained a mystery. It was believed that they were member of the Communist Party of Malaya. 
  5. Adam bin Jaafar, Private: He ran amok with and assault rifle that shocked the nation in Chow Kit on 11 October 1987. However, he was found not guilty by reason of temporary insanity. He spent many years in a mental institution but was eventually freed. He died in Mac 3, 2021 due to lung infection. 
  6. Altantuya Shariibuu: a Mongolian model found murdered in October 19,2006 in Mukim Bukit Raja in District of Petaling, Selangor. The C4 explosive were used to blow up Altantuya's body. Two former Police Special unit wer charged with her murder. They have been sentenced to death, but questions remain over their motives, and if they were the sole parties responsible. 
  7. Amber Court Hotel: located at Genting Highlands, Pahang > another famously creepy apartment complex. This towers are still open for homestays and rent despite the haunting stories by those who have previously stayed there. Some have allegedly seen a headless woman and other accounts claim to hear her screams and slamming doors from their rooms. 
  8. Ang May Hong: nine-year old Ang May Hong left home with her brother , Ang Yeow Thian, 11, on April 12, 1987 to buy breakfast at a nearby stall. May Hong disappeared while waiting for her younger brother to defecate. May Hong's father found her body 3 hours later at an abandoned house. She was raped and strangled. Until today, no one was officially charged with the crime
  9. Audrey Melissa Bathinathan: on May 17,1999, Audrey, 17 years old was on her way to school. However, on that fateful day, her mother became anxious when her daughter did not pick up the phone that noon. She became more agitated upon learning that Audrey did not make it to school that day. Her body was found a day later and was discovered that she was sexually assaulted and srangled to death. More than 40 had been arrested and called to assiat, however, none of them were charged with the crime
  10. Banting Murders: On 30 August 2010, in Banting, Selangor, a 47-year old cosmetics millionaire Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and her 3 companions, Bank Officer, Noorhisham Mohamad, Lawyer Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim and her driver Kamaruddin Shamsuddin were found murdered and their bodies burnt by a lawyer named N. Pathmanabhan and 3 other accomplices. As for this day (2024), the 4 killers are still on death row awating execution
  11. Batang Kali Massacre: The Batang Kali Massacre on 12 December 1948 was an incident in which British troops, namely the Scots Guards, killed 24 unarmed civilian men in Batang Kali, Selangor, during the Malayan Emergency. The incident occurred when British troops were hunting communists and had surrounded a rubber plantation, opening fire on the villagers. The British forces killed unarmed and innocent Malayan villagers and escaped censure. 
  12. Bentong Kali @ Kalimuthu a/l Pakirisamy: a dangerous Malaysian criminal of the 1990s. Involved in 17 murders and several cases of violence, extortion and heroin smuggling. He was shot dead by police in Medan Damansara, Kuala Lumpur on 29 June 1993.
  13. Bill Kayong: A senior member of Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Miri Branch,was gunned down at a traffic junction at Kuala Baram, Miri on June 21, 2016. 
  14. Botak Chin @ Wong Swee Chin: a Malaysian criminal and gangster,one of the most notorious and dangerous gangsters during the 1960s and 1970s. He was arrested by the police on 16 February 1976 and was executed on 11 June 1981 in Pudu Prison.
  15. Bukit Jugra, Banting, Selangor: a splendid view of the Langat River, the Selangor Coast and the Straits of Malacca beyong. The hill is said to be haunted,a ghost cries can be heard in the middle of the night. 
  16. Bukit Tunku: located in Kuala Lumpur > known for its own share of ghostly tales and paranormal activity. 
  17. Canny OngOn 13th June 2003, Canny Ong, a 28-year-old IT analyst from the United States, was sexually assaulted in her car near Taman Datuk Harun in Jalan Klang Lama. She was later killed before her body was stuffed into a narrow drain hole along the highway. Ahmad Najib Aris, 40 was accused of murdering Canny Ong and was executed by hanging in 2016. 
  18. Chee Gaik Yap: 24-year-old found dead with multiple stab wounds all over her body.She had been abducted, raped, sodomized and murdered on 14 January 2006. The suspect was arrested 6 years later at KLIA.The perpetrator, Shahril Jaafar, son of businessman was set free in June 2013 after found not guilty. In August 2015,following the prosecution's appeal and a re-trial, Shahril was found guilty and sentenced to the mandatory death penalty by the Alor Setar High Court. He is still currently on death row as of 2024 after Malaysia's abolitionof mandatory death sentences.
  19. Chin Chin Kooi, Inspector: Police Special Branch > he was killed while fighting with 6 communist who entered his house on 12 July 1975. He was awarded the "Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa" for his courage. 
  20. Clifford School, Kuala Lipis, Pahang: one of the most notorious shcool in Malaysia. It was HQ for the infamous Japanese Kempetai Military Police during World War II. The school had a purpose-built torture chamber within the school grounds until it was demolished in the 1980s. 
  21. Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Madrasa: @ Datuk Keramat, K.L >  fire occurred around 5.10 a.m on September 14, 2017,resulting in the death of 23 madrasa residents, comprising 21 students and two teachers,while five others were reportedly injured. Seven suspects were arrested and identified by police to be involved in setting up the fire. 
  22. Double Six Crash : refering to 6 June 1976, was a plane crash involving a GAF N-22B Nomad of Sabah Air, killing several local political leaders, including 2 top leaders, the Chief Minister of Sabah, Tun Fuad Stephens and Datuk Peter Mojuntin
  23. Elizabeth Parson: wife of Flight Lieutenant D.R. Parson who was killed while carrying out a bomb strike on the Communist during Malayan Emergency. Mrs Parson was charged on two counts of murdering her children, Edmund (4) and Daryl John (2) at their RAF Home in Butterworth, Penang on May 14, 1953. She was found not guilty because of unsound mind at the time of the crimes. 
  24. Forest City: a large real estate project located in Johor. It was label "Ghost City" as the Developers has struggled to attract residents. 
  25. Ghazalie Shafie , Tan Sri : on January 10, 1982, Malaysian Foreign Minster, Tan Sri Ghazali Shafie survived a plane crash when his Cessna 206 aircraft went down in a jungle-covered mountainside near Janda Baik, Pahang, due to poor visibility. His flight Instructor, Chacko Verghese and body-guard Charom Damm were killed in the crash. Tan Sri Ghazali as the pilot of the crashed plane is in no doubt. Why he was the sole survivor of the crash will forever remain a mystery
  26. Hans Herzog: A German-born Australian businessman, found dead at his residence at USJ, Subang Jaya, Selangor on 12 November 2003. Four teenagers were arrested and charged with murder (two was his teenage stepdaughters). 
  27. Hasleza Ishak, Princess: second wife of Raja Jaafar Raja Musa,who was dragged from her car and thrown to death on October 6, 2002. Her decomposing body was found in a tree, beside a waterfall in Taiping, Perak. Five were charged with the murder which involved Princess Nor Mahani, 60, the Raja Puan Muda of Perak. As some other notorious cases, it appears as if the henchman served time behind bars, but the mastermind escaped justice. 
  28. Henry Gurney, Sir: The British High Commissioner is shot death in an ambush by Communist led by Siew Mah on October6, 1951 at Frader Hill. No one was ever caught and tried for his murder.  
  29. Highland Towers: Tower Block 1 collapsed on 11 December 1993 from a major landslide caused by heavy rains that burst diversion pipe, resulted in 18 deaths. Residents of the other two blocks were evacuated to safety concerns. Because of the multiple deaths in the area, some local residents have alleged that the area is haunted. The assertions have attracted paranormal enthusiasts to the ruins to capture paranormal activity. 
  30. Hussain Ahmad Najadi: AmBank Founder >on 29 July 2013, he ahd his wife were shot at close range while leaving a Chinese temple in KL. His wife survived the attack, Hussain did not. Police arrested Koong Swee Kwan who was sentenced to death in 2014.
  31. Intan Yusniza Mohamad Yunos: 12-year old children television host and her 56-year old foster mother Haniza Ismail were both found robbed and murdered at their terrace house in Kampung Seri Budiman, Jalan Kuchai Lama, K.L on 22 June 1991. A 24-year old suspec, Zainuzzaman Mohamad Jasadi, was charged with the double murder. He was sentenced to death and was hanged on 5 October 2001. 
  32. J.W.W.Birch murder: the first British Resident of Perak, assassinated on November 2,1875 by Pandak Endut and Dato Maharaja Lela's followers at Pasir Salak, Perak whild taking a bath. His was a result of local resistance to British colonialism, particularly his efforts to abolish slavery, and it triggered the Perak War, leading to increased British control over the Malay Peninsula. 
  33. Jalan Turi Bungalow triple murder: the triple murder happened in April 23, 1992, two children, aged 11 and 7, along with their maid, had been battered to death inside the home. The Security Guard, Ariffin Agas was arrested and accused for murdering and was executed at Kajang Prison on 27 December 2002. The bungalow has been demolished, but passersby claim the site was haunted
  34. Jean Perera Sinnappa Murder  : the former beauty queen was found murdered in 6 April 1979 near the Subang International Airport. Although her brother-in-law was convicted, he was later acquitted, leaving the case unsolved. 
  35. Jho Low: a fugitive financier associated with the 1MDB scandal, he was subject to an Interpol Red Notice. He remains wanted by Malaysian authorities despite settling civil asset forfeiture cases with the U.S. Department of Justice. 
  36. Jim Thompson: an American businessman who helped revitalize the Thai silk industry in the 1950s and 1960s,  vanished in Malaysia's Cameron Highlands on March 26, 1967. He went for a short hike from the Bungalow, dissapeared and was never seen again
  37. Joe Fernandez, Dr : the former Lunas Assemblyman was gunned down in broad daylight in 4 November 2000 at Bukit Mertajam, Penang. He was pronounced death an hour later at the hospital he was being treated. However the coroner's court in Bukit Mertajam ruled that Fernandez's murder was not connected to politics, business rivalry or personal relationships
  38. Karak Highway Boy: a Malaysian urban legend about a ghostly schoolboy who wanders the notoriously dangerous Karak Highway at night, asking passing motorists "Have you seen my mother?". The legend stems from the story of a car accident where the mother, who was driving, was killed upon impact, while her son suffered fatal injuries from the broken windscreen, dying while still searching for her. Karak highway itself is known for being one of Malaysia's spookiest and most haunted places, and also listed as one of the most haunted highway in the world, with a high number of accidents occurring there, making night journeys particularly dangerous. 
  39. Kellie's Castle:located at Batu Gajah, Perak > this unfinished Scottish mansion is said to be haunted by its owner and other spirits, recognised by paranormal researchers. 
  40. Kevin Anthony Morais: Malaysian prosecutor > his body was found in a concrete filled drum at USJ 1, Subang Jaya, Selangor on16 September 2015. Six were accused of the murder of Morais. Army Pathologist Colonel Dr. R. Kunaseegaran was found guilty and sentenced to death. 
  41. Khoo Chong Kong, Tan Sri: Perak Police Chief > shot dead by 2 Communist terrorist at Jalan Anderson, Ipoh, Perak on 13 November 1975. Also killed was his escort Sgt. Yeong Peng Choong and the driver. A road in Ipoh, Perak is named Jalan Khoo Choong Kong in honor of him. 
  42. Kim Jong-nam: eldest son of North Korean leader Kim Jong II. He was assassinated at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia.An Indonesian woman, Siti Aisyah and Vietnamese woman Doan Thi Huong were charged with murder , but was later dropped.
  43. Kota Gelanggi: lost city of Malaysia - a city mentioned in Malay Annals (Sejarah Melayu) and folklore, with potential evidence of its existence found in Pahang. 
  44. Kuching Double Murder: on 6 August 2014, two 22-year-old British medical students - Aidan Brunger and Neil Dalton were attacked and stabbed to death in Kuching, Sarawak. A local fishmonger named Zulkipli Abdullah, was charged with the murder.Zulkipli was found guilty and sentenced to death. He is still on death row awaiting his execution. 
  45. Kugan Ananthan: a Royal Malaysian detainee whodied in a police lock-up while under arrest for suspicion of alleged car robbery. His case was later classified as murder by the Attorney-General. To this day, no one has been convicted of causing Kugan's death
  46. Lahad Datu Ambush: occured on 23 September 1985 when 15-20 armed foreign pirates landed on the coast of Lahad Datu, Sabah and stormed the town, killing at least 21 people and injuring 11 others. 
  47. Lai Ying Xin: 16-year old schoolgirl was kidnapped and murdered by a group of four youths on 11 September 2008. The youths extorted a ransom from her family in spite of her death. The four youths, three of whom were below 18 years old while the fourth was 22, were subsequently arrested and charged with kidnapping and murdering Lai.
  48. Laura Yap Fui Kheng: an air hostess and former beauty queen was found strangled to death in her home at Petaling Jaya, Selangor on 4 May 1981. A 21-year old air conditioner repairman, Lee Chee Wai was arrested and charged with murder. He was sentenced to death in 1982 and was hanged on 18 January 1984. 
  49. Lee Chow Meng: between 1996 and 1997, Lee Chow Meng tormented Malaysia with a horrifying record of 18 sexual assaults and five murders. He is labelled Malaysia's Ted Bundy. He was arrested in 1997 and only receive 15-year prison sentence. After serving a 2-year prison sentence, he died of HIV.
  50. Lily Chua: a 30-year old singer, who had an affair with a married man, Michael Gan Wei Seng. However, because Lily often bothered Michael's wife, he killed her and dismembered her body into 11 pieces using a meat cleaver and disposed of the remains in plastic bags along bushes in Jalan Tunku. Michael was charged with manslaughter and sentenced to 12 years in prison. He was set free 6 years earlier due to a reassessment of evidence. 
  51. Louis James Fraser: Scottish Businessman, founder of Fraser's Hill in Pahang > he was reportedly dissapeared in1910, but research in 2019  by Richard Hale, a naturalist and historian concluded that he retired from his position and returned to Great Britain in 1910. He died in 1916 while travelling in Austria-Hungary. 
  52. Maarof Zakaria: a prominent Malay lawyer, the founder of the Malay National Bank in 1947. He was reported missing on 4th December 1947, his body was found hanging on a tree in a jungle at the Batu 13 Kuala Lumpur - Bentong Highway on7th December 1947. Jalan Maarof in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur was named in his honour. 
  53. Maarten de Jonge: Dutch cyclist has escaped not one but two major plane crashs in his life. He was supposed to be onboard MH 370, the Malaysia missing plane before he decided to take a flight that departed earlier, he was also supposed to fly on MH17, the one that was shot down over Ukraine in 2014, before a different flight in order to save money. 
  54. Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17: a scheduled passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that was shot down by Russian-backed forces with Surface-to-Air-Missile on 17 July 2014 while flying over Eastern Ukraine. All 283 passengers and 15 crew were killed. 
  55. Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 : an international passenger flight that dissapeared from on 8 March 2014 on route to Beijing, China. The plane's wreckage,black box and all the 239 passengers and crew remain missing, its fate remains a significant mystery
  56. Malaysian Airlines Flight MH653: on evening 4 December 1977, the Boeing 737-200 crashed at Tanjung Kupang, Johor, while purportedly being diverted by hijackers to Singapore. The first fatal air crash for Malaysian Airlines, killing all 93 passengers and 7 crews. The circumstances in which the hijacking and subsequent crash occurred remain unsolved
  57. Mamak Gang: Notorious Malaysian gangsters active since the early 1990s. They are most notorious for stealing RM 12 million worth of gold bars from the Malaysian Airlines cargo complex at the former Subang International Airport on Merdeka Day 1994 (31 August 1994). Their crime spree came to end in December 2006 when the Selangor Police arrested the last three members of the gang still at large. 
  58. Mat Komando @ Ahmad Mohd Arshad: a figure synonymous with fear and chaos in Malaysia. His criminal activities and leadership of Gang 13 showcased a life steeped in audacity and criminal mastery. Mat Komando was shot dead by police at FELCRA Kampung Hujung Ketun, Pendang, Kedah on 12 September 2002.
  59. May Goh Lee Fang: found dead on February 17, 2005 at the back of her newly opened boutique in a mall in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. She had been sexually assaulted. A businessman was picked up by police to assist with investigations, but was released after an alibi cleared his name. The case has remained unsolved.
  60. Memali Incident: major incident that occured in the remote village of Kampung Memali, Baling, Kedah on 19 November 1985.A team of 200 policeman under orders from the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Musa Hitam, laid siege to village houses in Memali which occupied by 400 people led by Ibrahim Mahmud @ Ibrahim Libya. The siege reuslted in the deaths of 14 villagers and 4 policeman.  
  61. Mimaland: once a popular theme park in Malaysia, the first in Malaysia. Its closure in May 1994 due to infortunate incidents has left it with a reputatioin for being one of the most haunted places in Malaysia
  62. Mohamad Ashraf Hassan@ Acap: Disappeared during the Gopeng Ultra Trail run in Gua Tempurung, Kampar on March 24, 2019. All search efforts failed, his disappearance remains a mystery as no new leads have been found. 
  63. Mohamad Taha Talib, Dato' : The Speaker of the Negeri Sembilan Legislative Assembly was assassinated in 1982 due to a political dispute within UMNO. Based on information from several sources, the police arrested Datuk Mokhtar Hashim, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and also the Member of Parliament for Tampin. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, but was pardoned by the Yang DiPertuan Agong and freed in 1991.
  64. Mona Fandey - The Witch Doctor: The gruesome murder of a local politician, Datuk Mazlan Idris and the involvement of a "witch doctor" Mona Fandey captured national attention and became a notorious case. She was convicted of the murder in 1993 together with her husband Mohamad Nor Affandi and their assistant, Juraimi Hassan. They were executed on 2 November 2001 by hanging at Kajang Prison
  65. Mysterious Epidemic, Kuala Koh, Gua Musang, Kelantan: measles outbreak that occured in May 2019 among the Orang Asli sub-group of Batek People in Kuala Koh village in Gua Musang, Kelantan. The sudden death of several villagers remains mystery, 113 cases has been reported.
  66. Nazrin Hassan : the death of Cradle Fund CEO in a fire at his home in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor on June 14, 2018, remains unresolved. 
  67. Ng Yuk Tim: on 21 October 2013, 15-year old Ng Yuk Tim went missing after she last departed her home to meet a male friend for planning an uncoming cosplay event. 28-year old Poon Wai Hoong was sentenced to death by Shah Alam High Court for murdering Ng Yuk Tim at Kampung Cempaka, Shah Alam, Selangor.
  68. Noor Suzaily Mukhtar: on 7 October 2000, Noor Suzaily Mukhtar was on her way to work at Pantai Medical Centre in Klang by bus.However, she never reached her workplace and her dead body was found later the same day near a construction site at Jalan Bukit Tinggi. The Bus Driver, Hanafi Mat Hassan was charged for raped and murder of Noor Suzaily, and was hanged in Kajang Prison in 2008
  69. Nora Anne Quorin: London-born 15-year old found dead in a Malaysian eco-resort in Seremban in August 2019. The Coroner's Court ruled that she died due to misadventure, there was no one involved in her death. 
  70. Norita Samsudin: The 22-year old Company Executive and part-time model was found dead at her home in Sri Hartamas by her housemates on 5 December 2003. A post-mortem revealed that she was either raped or had engaged in sexual intercourse prior to her death and had died from suffocation. A number of individual were brought for questioning, including her ex-boyfriend, Hanif Basree Abdul Rahman. Due to lack of conclusive evidence, he was acquitted on 1 July 2004 and the case remained unsolved. Rumour has it that Norita murder was politically-motivated
  71. Norjan Khan Bahadar, Datuk:  Sabah Assistant Minister of Rural and Entrepreneurial Development > found dead in a hotel room at Bandaran Berjaya, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on 11 February 2004. A hotel waiter was arrested but later released as no proof that the waiter ever known Norjan. No further arrests were made and the case remains unsolved.
  72. Nur Muazara Ulfa Mohammad Zainal @ Zara: 11-month old, was sodomized and raped by her babysitter's husband, Hazmi Majid on 7 November 2018 at Pangsapuri Sri Cempaka, Bandar Baru Bangi.She died 2 days later at Serdang Hospital due to injuries. Hazmi was found guilty and sentenced to death. 
  73. Nurin Jazlin Jazimin Murder : the abduction and murder of a young girl whose body was found in a bag after she was reported missing on August 20, 2007, and until today the perpetrator was never found.
  74. Nurul Nadirah Abdullah @ Dirang : 4-year-old was abducted, raped and murdered on 1 March 2012 at Bandar Seri Alam, Masai, Johor. A 24-year-old contract labourer named Muidin Maidin was found guilty and sentenced to death. He is currently on death row awaiting his execution.
  75. Ong Teik Kwong, Datuk : on 1 December 2016, he was shot by his bodyguard, Ja'afar Halid at Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Expressway, Penang. Ja'afar Halid was found guilty and was sentenced to death. He was discharged and acquitted and was ordered to be held at mental hospital. 
  76. Penang War Museum: located at Batu Maung, Penang > built within a former coastal defense fort from World War II, this museum has been the site of numerous executions and battles, leading to its haunted reputation. 
  77. Pudu Prison: built between 1891 and 1895, located at Jalan Shaw (now Jalan Hang Tuah). The prison was demolished in December 2012 to make way for Bukit Bintang City Centre. It is famous for stories of hauntings stemming from executions and deaths within its walls. 
  78. Rabidin Satir @ Rambo Bentong : suspected of committing several murders in Bentong, Pahang. His first victim was a 17-year old schoolgirl Annie Kok Yin Cheng,raping and killing her on8 March 2009. He also committed at least 8 more crimes in the same region. As for 2024, Rabidin was on death row. 
  79. Raymond Koh Keng Joo: a Christian pastor from Malaysia who was abducted by a group of men in Petaling Jaya, Selangor on 13 February 2017. It was said by Human Rights Commission of Malaysia that this men were from the Malaysia Police Special Branch. As of December 2023, he is still missing.  
  80. Richard William Huckle : English serial Child rapist > convicted in 2016 of 71 charges of sexual offences against children, committed while he served as a Christian Missionary and a freelance photographer in Malaysia. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2016. He died after attack by Paul Fitzgerald in his cell in 13 October 2019. 
  81. S. Balasundram: a two year old boy is brutally tortured and dumped like garbage in a hospital Kuala Lumpur toilet in May 13, 1990. The convicted killer, K.Sinnasamy had his death sentence commuted 20 years in prison and 10 strokes of the cane. He was eligible for parole in 2010. 
  82. S.Krishnasamy, Datuk: Tenggaroh State Assemblyman > shot dead point blank by a gunman in a lift at the State MIC headquarters in Jalan Segget on 11 January 2008. 
  83. Sauk Siege : Al-Maunah group raid led by Muhammad Amin Mohamed Razali on 3 July 2000 at Bukit Jenalik, Sauk, Perak. A Police Detective Corporal Raju Saghadevan and a Commando Trooper Corporal Matthew was killed by the Al-Maunah. The Al-Maunah leaders and 2 others were sentenced to death. .
  84. Screaming Schoolgirls: the incident refers to a 18 July 2018 case of mass hyeteria of SMK Ketereh, a secondary school in Kelantan. A dozens of students began screaming and claiming to see a dark figure during an assembly, leading to a collective stress response with physical symptoms.
  85. See Sheau Fang: 18-year old was murdered on 26 February 2004 at Sijangkang, Kuala Langat, Selangor. Two brothers, Kher Tian Hock and Kher Then Heng were arrested and charged with murder. Kher Tian Hock was convicted of the murder and sentenced to death. 
  86. Shaharuddin Ibrahim, Datuk: Custom Department Deputy Director-General, was shot by a rider on April 26, 2013 at a traffic light at Lebuh Wawasan-Lebuh Sentosa junction near Putrajaya. He was pronounced dead at Putrajaya Hospital. His murder case remained a cold case to this day. 
  87. Sharlinie Mohd Nashar: dissapeared after leaving home with her sister to go to a playground on January 9, 2008 Petaling Jaya. Her disappearance remains unsolved to this day
  88. Shih Chung Branch School, Penang: founded in 1938, and occupied the site of a former five-storey villa on Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah in Penang. During World War II, the building was under the Japanese occupation, and locals allegedly executed there, leading to widespread belief that the spirits of those who died haunt the premises. 
  89. Teoh Beng Hock: Malaysian journalist, found dead on the rooftop of a building adjacent to MACC offices on July 16, 2009. The Royal Commission of Inquiry concluded that Teoh was not murdered by had committed suicide due to the aggressive interrogation tactics by three MACC officers. The three have been suspended pending an investigation by the police.
  90. Tin Song Sheng: On 12 January 1996, 7-year old Tin Song Sheng dissapeared from Taman Rashna Chinese Primary School in Klang,Selangor. To this day, his disappearance remains an unsolved mystery.
  91. UFO at Tanjung Sepat: October 1995 - Unidentified Flying Object was sighted by villagers at Tanjung Sepat, Selangor. Villagers report that the UFO as big as a football field, talk like a building with red, orange and green bright lights surrounding it and green humanoids 60 cm tall with long ears and red eyes. 
  92. Villa Nabila: located at Johor Bahru - the villa is surrounded by legends of a series of murders and family tragedy, making it a chillingly infamous location and has garnered a reputation as one of the country's most haunted locations and JB scariest yet. . 
  93. Wang Kelian Mass Killing (2015) : Wang Kelian, a popular tourits spot in Perlis, located near the border of Malaysia-Thailand. It has lost it popularity following the discovery of mass graves of the victims of human trafficking in 2015. About 139 graves and 29 illegal detention camps were discovered during operations carried out by the Malaysian Police. 
  94. William Crozier Steward : a British engineer was shot dead on the ground of Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur on April 23, 1911. Mrs. Ethel Mabel Proudlock, wife of the V.I Headmaster, William Proudlock was found guilty and sentenced to death, but upon appeal was released after just five months. 
  95. William Yau Zhen Zhong: the death of a child aged 6-year old leaves numerous questions unanswered. William was reported missing in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya on January 16, 2013. His body was found 8 days later on January 24 near the Kampung Sungai Sireh Jetty, Port Klang, Selangor. To date, it is still unknown whether the cause of death was due to abuse by his parents, murder, or an accident due to walking alone without supervision.
  96. Wong Choi: on 19 September 2019, at her flat at Jalan Tasik Tambahan, Ampang, Selangor, 85-year-Old Wong Choi was found dead by her son. She was raped and sodomized before she was murdered. The Killer, identified as K.Sathiaraj was arrested. He was sentenced to death in August 2022. His death sentenced was commuted to 40 years in prison and 12 strokes of the cane in 2025.
  97. Xu Jian Huang: the 14-year old boy who was found dead in an Ampang Hilir swimming pool with his limbs bound on September 26, 2004. Three men were charge with the crime, however they were found not guilty. This tragic case remains among the slew of Malaysia's unsolved crimes. 
  98. Yashmin Fauzi: 25-year-old nurse > found with multiple slash and stab wounds at her home in Kampung Batu Papan, Gua Musang, Kelantan on 1 March 2015. She was rape and murder.The perpetrator, Mohammad Awari Ahmad was found guilty and sentenced to death. In 7 August 2024, his death sentence was commuted to 40 years in jail and 12 strokes of the cane. 
  99. Yong Boon Cheong: 54-year-old millionaire > his body was discovered at an oil palm estate near Kampung Seri Paya, Batu Pahat, Johor on 4 July 2014. Two suspects,Izwanuddin Kasim and Noriskandar Zainal Yahya were both charge with the murder. Izwanuddin was sentenced to death and still awaiting execution while Noriskandar was sentenced to 8 years jail. 
  100. Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain: a military cadet officer of National Defence University of Malaysia,was relentlessly tortured and scalded with a steam iron by fellow students. Zulfarhan died from multiple injuries at Serdang Hospital on 1 June 2017. Six students were charged with murder and sentenced to death. However, on 28 February 2025, the Federal Court overturned the death sentenced to 18-year prison terms. 
  101. Zulkifli Abdhir: a Malaysian who was one of the FBI Most Wanted Terrorists.He is part of Jemaah Islamiyah and of involvement in the 2002 Bali bombings. He was killed on 25 January 2015 by Philippine Special Action Force.
