ABOUT PUTRAJAYA

  1. Located about 25 km south of Kuala Lumpur.

  1. Cruise Tasik Putrajaya: Lying in the heart of Putrajaya is the 650-hectre Lake Putrajaya. Visitors can embark on a leisurely cruise on the lake to take in the breathtaking sight of the city's many landmarks.
  2. Dataran Gemilang: located at Presint 4 > a round square at the southern tip of Putrajaya's core island flanked by a number of high-rise buildings, is the commercial heart of the precinct. 
  3. District 21: in IOI Mall Putrajaya > a theme park that offers activities for all visitors that involve climbing, jumping, riding , sliding and flying.

  7. Istana Kehakiman, Putrajaya: Palace of Justice at Putrajaya - houses the nation's Federal Court and Court of Appeal.  Its design incorporates classical Islamic and Western Classical influences, creating an interesting facade. 
  8. Istana Melawati: located in Precint 1, Putrajaya - the second National Palace of the King and Queen and served as their Royal Retreats. 
  9. Komplek Nasyrul Quranin Precinct 14, is the second-largest Quran production centre in the world, after King Fahd Complex in Madinah. Its name ‘Nasrul Quran’ was inspired by the Arab word meaning ‘Spreading of the Quran’. It aim to print one million copies of the Quran per annum, of which 70 per cent will be for domestic use while the remaining contributed to other Islamic countries in need of it. The complex also houses exihibition galleries, skills training spaces, meeting rooms, surau, cafeteria, viewing gallery and management and administrative offices.
  10. Masjid Mahmoodiah: known for its traditional Islamic architecture and offers facilities for daily prayers, Friday sermons and various religious activities. 
  11. Masjid Putra : The Principal mosque of Putrajaya. Construction of the mosque began in 1997 and was completed two years later. The mosque can accomodate 15,000 worshippers at any one time.
  12. Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin: located in Precint 3, Putrajaya - opposite The Palace of Justice, the second principal mosque in Putrajaya. It was officially opened by the 13th YDP Agong or King of Malaysia, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin in 2010. Also known as the Iron Mosque. 
  13. Millenium Monument, Putrajaya: A National Monument in Putrajaya, which was analogous to the Washington Monument in Washington D.C. It was second National Monument to be built in Putrajaya after Putrajaya Landmark. The Monument is 68m tall, stand in 25-hectare park in Precint 2. 
  14. Moroccan Pavilion : located within the Botanical Gardens, this pavilion is designed to showcase to rich tradition of the arts and architecture of Morocco. 
  15. Nature Interpretive Centre : located within the Putrajaya Wetland, this centre provides visitors with comprehensive information on the wetland. 
  16. Pantai Floria: The artificial beach located in Precinct 5 Putrajaya, is the newest recreational attraction in the area. It officially opened on 1 March 2022 and is located at Anjung Floria. The beach features a 100-metre long sandy area, open areas, water showers, and tiered seating.
  17. Perdana Putra : Built in 1997 - The Prime Minister's Department complex, an icon of Putrajaya.
  18. Putra Bridge, Putrajaya: one of the main bridge in Putrajaya, 435 m long connecting Precint 1 and 2 on the Core Island, Its designed was indpired by the Islamic Architecture of the famous Khaju Bridge in Isfahan, Iran. 
  19. Putrajaya Equestrian Park :located in the southeast of Precint 5, the park  is spred over 70 acres at the edge of the hilltop where where the Putrajaya International Convention Centre is perched. 
  20. Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) : a convention centre in Putrajaya, occupies an area of 135,000 sq.m began construction in 2001 and was competed in September 2003. 
  21. Putrajaya Roundabout  : at Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah > the world's largest roundabout with a diameter of 3.5 km. 
  22. Putrajaya Water Sports Complex: Putrajaya's popularity among water sports enshusiasts can be attributed to the modern sporting facilities that are readily available here. 
  23. Putrajaya Wetland Park : at Putrajaya > the first constructed freshwater wetland in Malaysia
  24. Putra Square: the 300 m circular Putra Square is bounded by Perdana Putra, Putra Mosque, Putra Bridge and the Promenade Shopping Mall. 
  25. Seri Gemilang Bridge: this ceremonial Bridge connects Heritage Square with the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) and serve as the main entrance to the Core Island of Putrajaya. 
  26. Seri Perdana: located in Precint 10, Seri Perdana is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Certain sections of Seri Perdana are open to the public and guided tours are available. www.seriperdana.gov.my.
  27. Seri Saujana Bridge, Putrajaya: another premier Bridge in Putrajaya, connecting Precint 4 on the Core Island to Precint 7. This cable-stayed arch bridge has been designed to reflect a transparent, elegant and futuristic structure. 
  28. Seri Wawasan Bridge, Putrajaya: one of the main bridge in Putrajaya, connecting Precint 2 on the Core Island to the residential area of Precint 8.
  29. Taman Botani Putrajaya: the largest Botanical Garden in Malaysia. More than 700 species of plants from Malaysia and other parts of the world can be found here. 
  30. Taman Cabaran Meluncur: This skating complex is a must-see for skateboarding, scootering, rollerblading and cycling enthusiasts. The skating complex is the only building in Asia that has ‘skateable’ architectural elements and contains its own skating rink the size of a football field. It also contains three combinations of three bowl bends known as Hips, Spine and Street Spine.
  31. Taman Cabaran Putrajaya: also known as Putrajaya Challenge Park, is an extreme sports park located in Precinct 5, Putrajaya. It offers a variety of facilities for extreme sports enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
  32. Taman Harmoni Presint 17: A new recreational park in Putrajaya located in Precinct 17. It is a focal point as a family leisure location and offers attractive views. This park is part of the Putrajaya development initiative and is known as "A Showcase of Putrajaya Placemaking Initiative".
  33. Taman Putra Perdana: is a public park situated in Presint 1, Putrajaya. A recreational park with fountains, shelters benches and a good view of Putrajaya. 
  34. Taman Rimba Alam: is located between Precincts 14 and 15 in the eastern part of Putrajaya. The park borders the Diplomatic Precinct and residential areas. With the concept of urban forestry, it combines a tropical forest ecosystem, flowing rivers and park facilities such as nature trails, scenic areas and picnic areas. Various recreational activities can be done here such as treasure hunts, orienteering, jogging, extreme cycling, guided tours and bird watching activities.
  35. Taman Saujana Hijau: located at Presint 11 > Gorgeous park on a hill, an approximately 3 km track around the park provices a beautiful view of trees and the areas below. 
  36. Taman Selatan: situated within precint 20 on the southern boundary of Putrajaya. It has been developed as the green gateway from the south of Putrajaya. 
  37. Taman Seri EmpanganLocated in Precinct 5 and close to the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), the scenic Seri Empangan Park offers a serene and tranquil view that can soothe and relax the mind. Visitors can jog and cycle around the lake while children can play at the children’s playground and families can enjoy delicious meals at the restaurant here and take in the panoramic sights, against the backdrop of the beautiful Seri Empangan bridge, complemented by the roaring sound of the dam water and amazing views, especially at night.
  38. Taman Warisan Pertanian: located at Precint 16, this park showcases Malaysia's commercial crops, as well as agricultural practices.More than 170 different types of trees and plants can be viewed. 
  39. Taman Wawasan: a beautiful landscaped park next to the lake in the heart of Putrajaya. It is a great place to walk, jog, cyble or just relax. 
  40. Tangga Putrajaya: also known as Putrajaya Steps, is the newest attraction in Putrajaya built in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Putrajaya. It is an iconic staircase located in Taman Putra Perdana, Precinct 1, and has been recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) as the longest staircase in a public park. The staircase has a height of 30 meters and a climbing distance of 200 meters, with 250 steps.

INTERESTING FACT - LABUAN
  1. Dataran Labuan: situated in downtown Labuan. Besides a football field, the square features an open-air stage, the main venue for the island's major event and performances. 
  2. Japanese Surrender Point: Labuan F.T > the very spot on Monday 10 September 1945, Lt. Gen. Masao Baba, Commander of the 37th Japanese Army surrender to Maj.Gen. George Wootten, Commander of the 9th Divisionof the Australian Imperial Forces
  3. Kampung Air: The traditional water villages in Labuan are an important cultural and historical heritage for the local community, especially for communities that inhabit coastal areas and are involved in fishing activities. The water villages in Labuan have a long history, with houses built on the water using wooden poles, reflecting the lifestyle of the fishing community that relies on the sea as its main source of income and livelihood.
  4. Labuan Bird Park : Labuan Bird Park is the only bird park in Borneo. It is fully administered by the Department of Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry of Malaysia. Labuan Bird Park is located in the Northern part of Labuan with the distance from the city approximately 16km and takes about 20 minutes drive. 
  5. Labuan Botanical Garden : Labuan Botanical Garden is one of many famous attractions in Labuan Island. It is located near to the town (around 2km east) of Labuan and a 5 minutes drive is enough to reach this recreational park. It is situated right behind the old airport, along Jalan OKK Abdullah.
  6. Labuan International Sea Sports Complexone of the interesting places to go in Labuan, Malaysia. It is located along the beach at the Tanjung Purun Road. It is situated not far away from the city centre of Labuan. One of the well known landmarks in located near to the complex which is the Labuan Tourism Action Council.
  7. Labuan Marine Park : Comprising the 3 islands of Rusukan Kecil, Rusukan Besar and Kuraman located 2 km south of Labuan. 
  8. Labuan Maritime Museum : Located within the International Sea Sport Complex in Labuan, the museum supplies visitors with knowledge on marine life found in Bornean waters, particularly in Labuan. 
  9. Labuan Museum:  officially opened to tht public on 8 October 2004 by YB Datuk Seri Utama Dr. Rais Yatim, the then Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage. The Labuan Museum was built in 1950s to house the British Colonial Administration Office at the time. 
  10. Labuan Peace Park: Located near the Surrender Point at Labuan, built by the Japanese as a symbol of peace, harmony and friendship as well as a tribute to those who lost their lives in Borneo during World War II
  11. Labuan World War II Memorial : A Commonwealth World War II graveyard in Labuan F.T of Malaysia. Many of personnel buried in this cemetery including Indian and Australian troops, who were killed during the Japanese invasion of Borneo. 
  12. Masjid Jamek An Nur: also known as the Labuan Federal Territory State Mosque, is the only mosque in the Federal Territory of Labuan, Malaysia. It was inaugurated on 1 February 1988 by the eighth Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The mosque is known for its futuristic and modern design and facilities such as lecture halls, libraries, and administrative offices.
  13. Menara Jam Labuana prominent landmark in Labuan, Malaysia, and is a replica of the original clock tower built in 1906. The original tower was erected in honor of Chee Swee Cheng, a philanthropist and businessman from Malacca who played a significant role in the development of Labuan and British North Borneo. The original clock tower was one of the few structures to survive the Allied bombing during World War II. It was later demolished by the British in 1948, with a promise to rebuild it, which was eventually fulfilled in 2002 with the construction of the replica by Labuan Corporation.
  14. Muzium Labuan : Built in 1950s to house the British Colonial office at that time. Officially opened to pulbic on 8 October 2004. 
  15. One-Stop Duty Freean enterprise in Malaysia, with the main office in Labuan. It operates in the Breweries industry. It was incorporated on August 03, 2009.
  16. Pantai Pancur Hitam: famous beach located on Labuan Island, Malaysia. It's more than just a beach, it's a park with beautiful views and well-maintained walkways. This beach is also famous for its complete facilities, including food stalls selling local food and drinks, as well as recreational areas for activities such as camping and barbecues.
  17. Pantai Pohon Batu: a beach located in Kampung Pohon Batu, Labuan, Malaysia. This beach is known for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scenery, making it a perfect place to relax with family and friends.
  18. Pulau Layang-Layang : also known as Swallow Reefs, is an island located about 300 kilometers north of Labuan and is part of the Spratly Islands cluster. The island is renowned as a world-class diving and fishing destination, and is known as the "big fish and reef diving Mecca of Southeast Asia".
  19. Pulau Papan : Location : Labuan > a major tourist attraction in the F.T of Labuan. The small islet which has a breathtaking landscape and tranquil atmosphere, is watched over by an old colonial lighthouse. 
  20. Pulau Rusukan Besar: A hidden gem located just southwest of Labuan, Pulau Rusukan Besar is famed for its untouched beauty and stunning scenery.
  21. The Chimney : located at Tanjong Kubong is a stack made of red bricks and reaching almost 106 feet in height. The Chimney is an artefact of Labuan's coal mining era between 1847 and 1912. 
  22. Ujana Kewangan: also known as Labuan Financial Industrial Park, is a business and lifestyle complex in Labuan, Malaysia. It is a 12-acre commercial landmark launched in 1996 to develop the Federal Territory of Labuan as an International Offshore Financial Centre (IOFC). The complex includes retail space, duty-free shops, supermarkets, restaurants, cinemas, and more.
  23. United Nation 08 Beach : United Nations Beach, also known as UN Beach or Pantai United Nation, is a beach located on Labuan Island in Malaysia. It was named for receiving the UN Environment Programme's Clean Beach Award in 2008. The beach stretches for 9 kilometers along the coast. It's known for its casuarina and coconut trees, and it's a popular spot for viewing sunsets.
  24. Water Village: located at the south part of the island. Water Village is another must visit place of attraction when you are in Labuan, Malaysia. The water village is located at the south part of the island. There are a total of 2 water villages in Labuan, one with the name of Kampung Bebuloh and the other has the name of Kampung Patau - Patau.
  25. Wreck Diving Site: Located at Labuan F.T > popular among experienced scuba divers for its 4 exciting wreck diving sites. Among the ship wreck here is SS De Klerk (Australia), USS Salute (U.S Warship) etc.
