Memories of when my colleagues and I were involved with 11th APPChE Congress which was held at the KL Convention Centre ON 28 August 2006.
The Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering (APCChE) was founded in 1975 through the efforts of Professor T. Mizushina of Kyoto University, Japan. It was formed to provide a focus for various non-profit societies, associations and institution working in the field of Chemical Engineering in the Asia Pacific region. APPChE comprises of member Societies in 13 countries and regions.
The date of 28 August 2006, when the 11th APPChE was held at the KL Convention Centre, coincidentally coincided with the wedding ceremony of Malaysia's top artist at the time, Siti Nurhaliza, and Dato' Sri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa, one of the most famous wedding ceremonies in Malaysia that was broadcast nationwide. The wedding was held at the ground floor of KL Convention Centre while our event was held at the 3rd floor.
Something I will never forget is that many of our staff, especially our ladies, ran downstairs to watch the famous couple's wedding ceremony... leaving me alone to man the registration counter....
