WHO IS ALLAH?

With the Name of Allah, The Intensely Merciful, The Eternally Merciful

Who is Allah?
Is Allah the god of Muslims?
Allah is not the private god of Muslims, Allah is the Lord of all created things in the seen and unseen worlds
Allah sustains all of His Creation. He fulfils the needs of those who worship Him as well those who deny His existence.

Why are there no pictures or statues of Allah?
Allah is the Unseen Creator. He is beyong the grasp of human vision. He is unlike anything the human mind can imagine.
Therefore drawing pictures of making statues that represent Him as a human, a semi-human or an animal is an act of misguidance and a major sin in Islam.
Why worship representations when you can submit to The One True Lord in the way taught by Him and demonstrated by His final Messenger (pbuh).

Allah is descrived as "Him". Is Allah a male person?
If you speak English, you use the words "him" and "she" a lot and it is very easy to give people wrong ideas about God.
The feminine for 'him' is 'her'. Some believe that God has female partners.
Associating partners with Allah is an act of falsehood and the punishment is severe for those who lie about Allah.
The Almighty calls Himself "Allah" in The Qur'an. This Arabic word has no plural and is gender-free. The Almighty is not an old man who posed for Michelangelo !
Nouns are either 'masculine' or 'feminine' in several languages including Arabic and French. Thus Allah as 'Him' is a 'grammatical' and not a natural gender!

Some say God if Love. Allah?
To reduce The Creator of the Heavens and the Earth to just one attribute is a gross misrepresentation of His Majesty.
Allah is not just 'Love'. Allah is Al-Wadood (The All-Loving).
Allah's love translates into action in the numerous ways Allah loves His creation.
Allah hates sin but loves the sinner who turns to Him in sincere repentance.

Who created Allah?
Allah created time-space. All of Allah's creations exist in time-space. 'Cause and effect' exist only in time-space.
If Allah is like His creations, then He too mus have been 'caused' to exist.
Who created the Creator?
Answer: Another Crerator. And who created this Creator? We will end up with an infinite series of Creators.
The problem with 'infinity' is that it is an idea that does not exist in the real world.
Unlike His creations, Allah exists outside of time-space where 'cause and effect' do not exist. Thus Allah was not 'caused'. He always existed in all His Majesty and Will.

Does Allah have a begotten son?
Allah is capable of all things but He will do only those things appropriate to His Greatness and Glory.

"Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion."
(The Qur'an : 17: 111)

"Do you say against Allah what you do not know?"
(Qur'an 10:68)

"Warn those who say,'Allah has begotten a son."
(Qur'an 18:4)

Isa (Jesus), peace be upon him, told his followers, "Truly, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (Alone). This is the Straight Path."

Unlike His creations, Allah is independent of needs. Why then does He need our worship? The truth is He does not need it.

Our worship neither enhances Allah's Majesty nor our neglect of worship diminshes it.

Worship is a Mercy from Allah. It is His way of protecting and guiding us to success in this life and Paradise in the Hereafter.

There is no compultion in Allah's way. The Truth is clear from falsehood. The choice is yours to make.

Allah knows best.
