ABOUT TERENGGANU

  1. Often referred to as "Gem of the East Coast"
  2. The state capital is Kuala Terengganu which is also the Royal Town.

  1. Air Terjun Chemerong :Chemerong Waterfall located within the Chemerong Forest Reserve, just 30 km from Bandar Al Muktafi Billah Shah in Dungun. It is widely regarded as the highest waterfall in Malaysia
  2. Air Terjun Lata Tembakah: Besut > the most impressive waterfall of Terengganu that flows majestically through the rainforest. 
  3. Batu Bersurat Kuala Berang: an inscribed stone of Terengganu > the earliest recorded evidence of the spread of Islam in Malaysia, discovered in 1903, the site is 38 km southwest of Kuala Terengganu. 
  4. From the top of the hill, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city of Kuala Terengganu.

It is the fourth bridge within the Kuala Terengganu City area that straddles the river after Sultan Mahmud Bridge, Manir Bridge, and Pulau Sekati Bridge.

  22. Kemaman Recreational Park & Mini Zoo: located at the village of Kg.Ibok, about 14km from Chukai town, a favourite water park, aquarium, Elephant park, bird park, orchid garden, fruit orchard and herb garden. 
  23. Kenyir Elephant Conservation Village (KECV)established in 2012, provides a sanctuary for orphaned elephants, offering them veterinary care and a safe environment.   24. Keropok Lekora famous traditional Malaysian fish sausage snack that originated from the state of Terengganu. Made from minced or pounded fish, sago flour, salt and sugar.
  25. Kuala Terengganu Waterfront : Better known as KT Waterfront, it is a public park built on the banks of the Terengganu River. It was built in mid-2003 and was fully completed in 2006.
  26. La Hot Spring: located along the way to Jerteh, about 100 km north of Kuala Terengganu. A natural hot springs for a chance to enjoy the therapeutic properties of the sulphur rich water. 
  27. Masjid Abidin: Kuala Terengganu > Terengganu's old state royal mosque built by Sultan Zainal Abidin II between 1793 and 1808. The mosque, which is also known as the White Mosque or the Big Mosque, is located in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia. The old Royal Mausoleum is situated near the mosque.
  28. Masjid Kayu Ulul Albab: mosque located in Kampung Seberang Jerteh, Jertih, Terengganu, Malaysia. It is famous for its Malay architectural design with Islamic features made of cengal wood. This mosque can accommodate 1500 worshippers at a time.
  29. Masjid Kristal: Crystal Mosque located in Wan Man , Kuala Terengganu. A grand structure made of steel, glass and crystal.The mosque was officially inaugurated on 8 February 2008, able to accommodate up to 1,500 worshippers. 
  30. Masjid Lapan Kubah : also known as Masjid Lapan Kubah, is a mosque in Kampung Lapan Kotak, Jerteh, Terengganu, Malaysia. It's notable for its architecture, which resembles St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, Russia, hence its nickname "Russian Mosque".

  32. Masjid Tengku Tengah Zaharah: located 4 km south of the Kuala Terengganu city centre, it often referred to as "Floating Mosque". Completed in 1995,it was officially opened in July 1995 by the Sultan of Terengganu.
  33. Muzium Negeri Terengganu : Located at Bukit Losong, Kualal Terengganu > the biggest museum complex in Southeast Asia
  34. Noor Arfa Craft Complex: located 15 km south of Kuala Terengganu. Noor Arfa is known for its meticulous designs and quality fabrics. A pioneer and leasing producer of hand-painted batik in Malaysia.

  60. Pusat Sains & Kreativiti Terengganu: The Terengganu Science & Creativity Centre (PSKT) is an interactive learning centre established by the Terengganu State Government on 22 March 2005. The main purpose of PSKT is to provide exposure to the development of science, innovation and creativity in a comprehensive manner. PSKT is also the largest science centre in Malaysia.
  61. Rantau Abang Turtle Sanctuary: about 69 km south of Kuala Terengganu.A chance to learn about the different species of turtles at the Rantau Abang Turtle Information Centre and across the road on the beach, you can make a visit to the turtle htchings.

  65. Sungai Yak Yah : Firefly Sanctuary: the site of Malaysia's largest firefly sanctuary. It is located by the village of Kampung Ibok, 13 km from the town of Chukai, in the district of Kemaman, Terengganu. 
  66. Taman Awam Lagun Kuala Ibai :  a recreational park in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia, featuring a lagoon with scenic views and a floating mosque. It's a popular spot for relaxation, picnics, and enjoying the natural beauty, with facilities like electric motorbike rentals for exploring the area.

  74. Twelve Graves: located at Kampung Kuala Telemong, Terengganu > a tomb known as the Makam Pahlawan Padang Kachung (Warriors tomb), also known as the "Twelve Graves" where 12 Malay fighters died fithting against the British colonialists.
