- Regarded as the "Ricebowl of Malaysia" as Kedah and Perlis produce more tha half of the country's homgrown rice.

- Air Terjun Lata Mengkuang: located within the Rimba Teloi Forest Reserve Area 72, about 12 km from the town of Sik. The Lata Mengkuang Recreation Park is a lowland dipterocarp forest located at an elevation of 200 meters above sea level. An ideal place for swimming and picnicking.
- Air Terjun Telaga Tujuh: Seven Wells Waterfall, located , located 2.5 km from Pantai Kok, Pulau Langkawi. "Seven Wells" referring to seven interwined natural pools fed by seven separate waterfalls in Gunung Machinchang, one of Langkawi best known mountain.
- Air Terjun Titi Hayun: located 3 km from Yan Town and 40 km from Alor Setar, within the Mount Jerai Forest Reserve. It got its name from a hanging bridge that was built over the river in 1834. Popular spot for nature enthusiasts.

- Balai Besar Kedah: Located near the town square at Alor Setar, Kedah - Balai Besar is a wooden pavilion built in 1898.
- Balai Nobat Kedah: located in Alor Setar, Kedah - a significant historical structure in Malaysian culture and heritage. Built in 1906 during the reign of Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah, it serves as a storage place for the Nobat Music instruments used in Royal Ceremonies like the Coronation of Sultans and Royal Wedding.
- Balai Seni Negeri: Alor Setar > displays various art work made by Kedah people, such as painting, wood carving and calligraphy.
- Beras Terbakar, P. Langkawi: "Field of Burnt Rice" > Located in Padang Mat Sirat, Pulau Langkawi, this field was actually a paddy field that purposely scorched by villagers in an effort to stop it from falling into the hands of Siamese invaders in 1821.Centuries later, visitors can still find burnt rice grains on the ground.
- Blue Lagoon: a man-made lake, initially used for industrial purposes, now a popular spot for photography due to its turquoise-blue water and surrounding rainforest. Located near the Paddy Museum in Alor Setar, it's a relatively small attraction and some find the description as a lagoon to be overstated, describing it more as a large blue-green pond.
- Buffalo Park, Pulau Langkawi: home to more than 100 Murrah and Swamp buffaloes, which are reared to produce fresh buffalo milk. These milk are processed into delicious buffalo milk product such as cheese, yogurt and ice cream.
- Bujang Valley Archaeology Museum: located at the town of Merbok, 70 km south of Alor Setar, Kedah > one of the richest archaeological sites in Malaysia. - Bukit Wang: a recreational forest and hill located in Jitra, Kedah, Malaysia. It's a popular destination for locals, particularly on weekends and public holidays, offering activities like jungle trekking, hill climbing, and picnicking. The forest is known for its relatively long bathing area by the river, suitable for all ages.
- Darul Qiyam Mall: explore the Darul Qiyam Mall in Bukit Kayu Hitam for shopping and local experiences. However, it is extremely quiet compared to Arked Niaga at Padang Besar, Perlis.
- Dataran Lang : located at the town of Kuah, Pulau Langkawi > features miniature fontains, terraces and bridges.
- Dataran Zero Kilometer: is a small square located in Sungai Petani, Kedah, near the Big Clock. It is a popular tourist attraction, mainly because of the large "I Love Sungai Petani" sign and the smaller "I Love SP" sign on the square. The square is also a place for people to relax and take pictures.
- Fantasia Aquapark: A water theme park which is one of the main attractions at Darulaman Park, Jitra, Kedah which is surrounded by the vast and beautiful Darulaman Lake.

- Gua Jepun: located at Baling, Kedah > also known as Gua Sireh, is a natural cave system with historical significance and unique geological formations. It's known for its large chambers, 3D ceiling, and impressive rock formations. The cave is said to have been used by the Japanese during World War II for hiding and storing supplies.

- Gunung Keriang : just 12 km east of Alor Setar,Kedah - it is a 250-million year old limestone hill surrounded by scenic paddy fields.
- Gunung Raya : the highest peak in Pulau Langkawi. It is believed that the mountain is the petrified form of a giant called Mat Raya. The mountain is a home to a variety of birds and wildlife, including hornbills and white-bellied sea eagles.
- Istana Tunku Kudin: Located in Sungai Bukit Pinang, Kepala Batas, Kedah. The abandoned palace, which is over 100 years old, belonged to Tunku Dhiauddin Ibni Sultan Zainal Rashid or better known as Tunku Kudin, the Raja Muda of Kedah during the reign of Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin Mukarram Shah (1854 - 1879). Involved in the Civil War in Selangor in 1867.
- Kampung Adat Melayu Seri Banian: a cultural village in Pendang, Kedah, Malaysia, that aims to showcase traditional Malay life and culture.
- Kedah State Museum: located at Alor Setah, Kedah > built in 1936, the museum is a showcase and repository of Kedah's rich cultural heritage.
- Kilim Geoforest Park, Pulau Langkawi: experience the wonders of nature at Langkawi's coastal mangrove forest, a place with an ancient geological heritage.
- Kompleks Bebas Cukai Cergas Jaya: also known as the Bukit Kayu Hitam Duty-Free Complex, is a designated area for duty-free retail operations in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, Malaysia. It's owned and operated by Cergasjaya, which has been running retail business there since 1988. The area also includes land leased by Cergasjaya Properties (CPPA) and gazetted as a Free Zone since 1996.
- Kota Kuala Kedah: or Kota Kuala Bahang, was built as a defensive fortress for the state of Kedah apart from its capital in Alor Setar. Brief History The fort was built in 1771 during the reign of Sultan Muhammad Jiwa and was completed in 1780.
- Kota Mahsuri, Pulau Langkawi: the Mahsuri Memorial Complex attempts to recreate and celebrate the life and times of the fabled princess who was unjustly accused of adultery.
- Ladang Anggur Tasik Beris: located in Sik, Kedah, is the largest vineyard in Southeast Asia. It is managed by Excel Agrotech Sdn Bhd and covers an area of 34 acres. The estate is known for successfully growing grapes in the Malaysian climate and attracts many visitors for educational and recreational purposes.
- Ladang Madu Kelulut Ori Dukun Jaya: Located at Kampung Padang Lalang, Alor Setar, a new and family-friendly travel destination that offers fun and relaxation for both children and parents. Madu Kelulut (Stingless Bee Honey)has extraordinary antioxidant properties, which are 10 times higher than regular honey.
- Ladang Nira Nipah Napiah: Located 20 km from Sungai Petani, Kedah, Ladang Nira Nipah Napiah has become the newest tourist attraction in Kedah. With a 0.5 hectare nipah plantation, the location is never empty with the presence of nipah water enthusiasts from the surrounding area and abroad.

- Lata Bayu: Lata Bayu is a well maintained recreation park in the state of Kedah. A few km outside Baling there is a clearly signposted road, leading to the falls. Follow this road for about 10 km. Turn right at a junction and contine for another 3 km. The park has all facilities.
- Lembah Bujang Archaelogical Museum: The only in Malaysia which exhibits archaelogical evidence of the existence of a trade and Hindu-Buddhism propagation center in Southeast Asia from the 3rd century to the 12th century. It is one of the richest archaelogical sites in Malaysia.
- LIMA Langkawi: LIMA (Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition that takes place once every two years, held on odd-numbered years. It is one of the largest maritime and aerospace exhibitons in the Asia-Pacific region. The first LIMA Langkawi was held on 11 November 1991.
- Mahathir Mohamad House: the 4th & 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad was born in this house on 20 December 1925. Located at No. 18, Lorong Kilang Ais, Alor Setar, Kedah.
- Makam Mahsuri: Mahsuri Mausoleum in Pulau Langkawi, Kedah - Mahsuri, a lady accused of adultery by her Mother in Law and was sentenced to death. She bled white blood, a sign of innocence, with her dying breath, she cursed the island with 7 generations of bad luck.
- Makam Puteri Lindungan Bulan: The existence of the tomb of Princess Lindungan Bulan in Kota Seputeh, Jitra is proof that it is not a fairy tale or a comforter. Princess Lindungan Bulan or her real name is Tengku Zaleha is the daughter of Sultan Sulaiman Shah, who is said to have white blood like Mahsuri.
- Makam Tengku Anum: Makam Tunku Anum is modest but historic and it reminds of the years 1839 to 1854 when Kubang Pasu was a small independent state ruled by Tunku Anum himself after being bequeathed with the land, following his efforts and success in getting Kedah released from Siamese occupation.
- MARDI Agro Technology Park: about 10 minutes drive from Kuah, Langkawi. Featuring a range of tropical fruit trees and a vegetable farm to showcase the abundance of fruits and vegetables in this region.
- Masjid Al-Bukhary: Alor Setar > one of the beautiful mosques in Kedah, located not far from the town of Alor Setar. Renowned for its stunning Islamic Architecture and serves as a major religious and cultural centre in Kedah.
- Masjid Sultan Muzaffar Shah: a mosque in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Located along Jalan Sungai Layar. The mosque could have been named after one of the three rulers of Kedah, either Sultan Mudzaffar Shah III (1546-1602), Sultan Mudzaffar Shah II (1236-1280) or Sultan Mudzafar Shah I (1136-1179).
- Masjid Zahir : Kedah's State mosque > built in 1912, one of the oldest mosque in Malaysia.
- Menara Alor Setar: Also known as Kedah Tower, is a 4-storey, 165.5 m long telecommunication tower in Alor Setar, Kedah. It is once 3rd tallest tower in Malaysia. Officially opened in 14 August 1997.
- Menara Jam Alor Setar: Known locally as Bangunan Jam Besar, built in 1912. Located adjacent to Balai Nobat and Zahir Mosque. It is used to announce prayers time throughout the day.
- Menara Tanjung Chali : a prominent landmark in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. It's a watchtower located within the Tanjung Chali Square, a historical site that was once a harbour and trading hub. The tower is a popular spot for photography, offering views of the surrounding area, especially during sunset.

- Muzium Di Raja (Alor Setar) : built in 1936 by the founder of Alor Setar, Kedah, Sultan Muhammad Jiwa.
- Muzium Negeri Kedah: Built in 1936, the Kedah State Museum, originally known as the Kedah State Historical Museum. Its original location was on the ground floor of Balai Besar where Kedah's most important event were held in 1961.
- Muzium Padi Kedah: the Kedah Paddy Museum is dedicated to the rice plant, paddy, the world's most important crop. Located at the foot of Gunung Keriang, 8 km from Alor Setar, Kedah, occupying about 12,000 sg m, the museum houses a diverse range of exhibits covering all aspects of paddy cultivation.
- Napoh Eco Farm: located at Jitra, Kedah, an organic farm that combines Natural, Education, Retreat, and Real food.
- National Science Centre: located next to Paddy Museum at Gunung Keriang. As a place to go to while away time with your children, this place is excellent. Great potential. If only the exhibit are better maintained. All good ones were either closed or under maintenance (look like they have been so for quite some time).
- Pantai Cenang, Pulau Langkawi: about 25 km from Kuah, the famous beach of Pulau Langkawi, lined by resorts, hotels, shops , bars and restaurants offering variety of cuisine from local favourite to fast food.
- Pantai Merdeka: Pantai Merdeka is a coastal location in Kuala Muda District, Kedah, Malaysia. It has the only sand beach in mainland Kedah, and it is the major attraction for beach goers from all over northern Penang and Kedah State.
- Pantai Pasir Hitam : located in the heart of Pulau Langkawi 's north coast. The black sand covers the beach which gives the spot its unusual name.
- Pantai Pasir Tengkorak, P. Langkawi: resembling a pirate's hideout, the beach of Mysteries as it is associated with various beliefs and legends linked to battle and shipwrecks.

- Pulau Sayak: located at Kota Kuala Muda, Kedah, one of the 29 locations for the sighting of the new moon of Ramadan (Fasting Month) and Syawal (Eid Mubarak). Pulau Sayak is also famous for Mee Udang (Prawn Noodles), a dish featuring noodles served with succulent, fresh prawn in a rich, savory broth.

- Rumah Tok Su Kedah: The 100 year old Rumah Tok Su was restored and relocated to Jalan Lumba Kuda, Alor Setar, Kedah. These two heritage buildings are excellent examples of traditional Kedah-Malay architecture.
- Sultan Abdul Halim Mu' adzam Shah Gallery: Built in 1922, the building housing the gallery was once the Alor Setar high Court. Officially opened in 2007, this gallery pays homage to the 14th King of Malaysia, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.
- Sultanate of Kedah : in one of the oldest sultanates in the world, established in AD 1136 on the Malay Peninsula.
- Sungai Batu Archaelogical Site: The Sungai Batu Archaeological Site, located in the Bujang Valley of Kedah, Malaysia, is one of Southeast Asia's most significant ancient archaeological discoveries. Believed to date back to around 788 BC, it is considered one of the oldest known civilizations in the region.

- Tanjung Dawai: a coastal area and fishing town located in Kuala Muda District, Kedah, Malaysia. It is famous for its seafood and is a stopover for fishing boats to bring in their catch.
- Tasik Beris: a man-made lake located in the Sik district, Kedah. It was formed as a result of the construction of the Beris Dam in 2000. This lake not only serves as a source of water for agriculture, but is also a popular tourist destination in Kedah.

- Tasik Pedu: a man-made lake located in Padang Terap District, Kedah, Malaysia. It covers an area of 75 km². It serves as the largest water resource for Kedah.
- Telaga Air Hangat: a popular hot springs about 14 km from Kuah, Pulau Langkawi. This spot is associated with a legendary battle between giants which resulted in a cauldron of boiling water being spilled, hence the hot springs.
- Terusan Wat Mat Saman: Wan Mat Saman Canal > built in 1885, tha canal was a monumental achievements of its time, stretching from Alor Setar to Gunung Jerai , the longest canal in Malaysia.
- Tsunami Memorial & Gallery: The Kota Kuala Muda Tsunami Memorial & Gallery are poignant reminders of the devastating tsunami which took place on 26 December 2004 following a powerful 8.9 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. The Kota Kuala Muda region of Kedah was the worst hit in Malaysia with 10 villages devastated while some coastal areas of Penang, Perlis and Selangor were also affected.
- Tun Dr. Mahathir birthplace: located at Lorong Kilang Ais, Alor Setar, Kedah. Built in 1900, the birth place of the 4th & 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia - designated a historical building by the National Archives in 1992.
- Ulu Legong Hot Spring: situated about 22 km from Baling, Kedah - the Ulu Legong Hot Springs recreatioal centre, facilities include a 24 hour cafeteria, gazebos, changing room and showers.
- Ulu Muda Eco-Park: This remote 120,000 hectare forest is known as a sanctuary for many large mammals such as elephants and tigers. The entry point to the park is from the Gubir Jetty, about 75 km east of Alor Setar, Kedah.
