ABOUT JOHOR

  1. Widely known as South Gateway to Malaysia. 
  2. Johor Bahru is the State Capital about 330 km from Kuala Lumpur. 
  3. The only state in Malaysia with an unbroken coastline from the South China Sea to the Straits of Malacca. 
  4. Linked to Singapore via the Johor-Singapore Causeway and the Second Link Expressway.

  1. Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast: one of the largest waterparks in the world, located within the Desaru Coast destination resort in Johor. It has one of the world's biggest wave pools and the region's first ever water coaster. It is designed with a Malaysian fishing village theme. 
  2. Austin Heights Water & Adventure Park: Taman Mount Austin, JB >  offer a fun experience for families and individuals, with a variety of attractions.
  3. B5 Johor Street Market: Located in Tampoi, Johor > to promote local and commercial products, local specialty food as well as cultural and art activities.

  7. Danga BayThe largest recreational park in Johor Bahru. It was developed by Tan Sri Datuk Lim Kang Hoo via Ekovest Bhd. Located near the Istana Bukit Serene, about 7 km fromJohor Bahru's city centre.
  8. Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru: Built back in January1994,this JB's smain square, built soon after the JB's was declared as a city. A big field that allows public to hold sport events or public gathering.

Dataran Penggaram : Batu Pahat > Dataran Penggaram, located at Jalan Rahmat, Kampung Bahagia, 83000 Batu Pahat, Johor, Malaysia, is a significant public square and historical landmark in Batu Pahat. It features a prominent monument depicting a pair of hands chiselling a rock, symbolising the town's origin. It serves as a central gathering place for locals and visitors hosting various events and activities throughout the year. 
  10. Desaru Beach : located at the southeastern corner of Johor, 26 km from Johor Bahru > renowned for its  idyllic coastline with 26 km of pristine beaches fringed by casuarina trees.

  12. Desaru Ostrich Farm : located at Kota Tinggi, Johor > has about 500 ostriches. Visitors can purchase farm-related souvenirs and ostrich eggs and fresh ostrich meat. 
  13. Dinosaurs Alive Water Theme Park : Johor Bahru > a dinosaur-themed water park located at KSL Hotel & Resort in Johor Bahru. The park features realistic, animatronic dinosaur replicas, including a large Brachiosaurus that sprays water, and a T-Rex entrance. It includes water slides, pools, and a water play area, making it a fun destination for families with young children.
  14. DIY Playground  : Batu Pahat > Nestled in Batu Pahat, the DIY Playground is a special gem worth visiting. What sets it apart is that it’s not your ordinary park – it’s the creative masterpiece of a kind elderly man. Using recycled materials, he built a playground with swings, slides, and more, all aimed at giving kids a fun place to play.
  15. Don Hu Jurassic Garden : Muar > a nice place to visit during weekends especially for kids below 10 years old. Entrance is free.

Galeri Darurat Bukit KepongThe Bukit Kepong Emergency Gallery (GDBK) was built specifically to appreciate the services and sacrifices of all members of the police force who fought tirelessly to defend this beloved homeland. The contents of this GDBK are a collection of Emergency events that occurred throughout the country during the years 1948-1960 and the Second Communist Insurgency 1968-1989.
  19. Galeri Dato' Onn : Batu Pahat > the official residence of the late Dato' Onn Jaafar, a Malayan politician who served as the 7th Menteri Besar of Johor (1947 - 1950). He was the founder of UMNO (United Malay National Organisation) in 1946, and its first President until his resignation in 1951. 
  20. Galeri Terompah Mastor: Simpang Renggam > founded by Masuan Hj Wakiran since 2008, the only one that produce clogs in Johor.

  22. Istana Bukit Serene : The Royal Palace and the official residence of the Sultan of Johor, located in Johor Bahru, Johor. It was completed in 1939.
  23. JARO Malaysia Handicraft Centre: The Johor Area Rehabilitation Organisation (JARO), a charitable societycommitted to helping the physically and mentally challenged lead a nornal working life. 
  24. Johor Art Gallery : at Johor Bahru, Johor > Built in 1910, contains a rich and varied collection of antique, cultural and traditional items depicting the history and culture of Johor.

  26. Kluang Rail CoffeeNostalgia looking eatery (kopitiam) tucked in Kluang Railway Station. This kopitiam does have that 'down to memory lane' feeling, with old uncles sipping hot coffee and an old train track next to this eatery. It has been serving coffee to Kluang town for four generations.

  28. Kota Tinggi Waterfalls : Located at the foot of Gunung Muntahak, accessible via Kota Tinggi town at Johor > provide a picturesque sight as water cascades from a height of 36m into a pool deep enough to swim in.

  30. Laman Kreatif Kluang : Kluang > to enrich the back alley in Kluang town near Taman Merdeka. Areas that have been upgraded with the installation of the lights is to turn the area into a tourist attraction and recreational activities can be carried out by residents of Kluang. 
  31. Lata Seri Pulai : Pekan Nenas, Pontian > Lata Seri Pulai is a family-friendly resort that is nestled within the area of Pekan Nanas, Johor. In addition to its spacious resort, there are plenty of fun-filled activities here.   33. Makam Bendahara TepokThe Bendahara Tepok (Tun Hamzah) Mausoleum is the burial place of the last Bendahara (Minister) of the Malay Sultanate of Melaka, located approximately 2 kilometres from Segamat town.
  34. Masjid Daing Abdul Rahman: Nusa Idaman, Johor > Completed in 2021,  the mosque is able to hold a capacity of 2000 people at once. The architecture was made to steer the community towards togetherness, not just about it existing as a worshipping place. Cafes were placed to bring in interfaith community within instead of it being exclusively for Muslims.
  35. Masjid Jamek Sultan Ibrahim : Muar > completed in 1930, a historical mosque in the town of Muar, Johor.
  36. Masjid Kota Iskandar: Iskandar Puteri > a Johor state mosque located at Kota Iskandar, Iskandar Puteri, a Johor State Administrative Centre at Johor Bahru District, Johor, Malaysia. It is the second state mosque of Johor after Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque in Johor Bahru.
  37. Masjid Lapangan Terbang SenaiThe Senai Airport Mosque is a main mosque in Senai International Airport in Senai, Kulai District, Johor, Malaysia. It was built in 2003 and completed in 2010. It is also used as an international mosque for tourist who travel through Senai Airport.
  38. Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar: situated at Johor Bahru, Johor > took 8 years to build and was completed in 1900. 
  39. Masjid Sultan Iskandar : Johor Bahru > a mosque located at Bandar Dato' Onn, Johor Bahru District, Johor, Malaysia. The mosque was named after the late 24th and fourth Sultan of Johor, Almarhum Sultan Iskandar ibni Almarhum Sultan Ismail.
  40. Muzium Bugis : The Bugis Museum, is a museum in Pontian District, Johor, Malaysia, dedicated to the history and culture of the Bugis people, a Malay subgroup with origins in Sulawesi. It houses a collection of around 2,000 artifacts, including traditional clothing, weapons, old coins, jewelry, and photographs, showcasing the heritage of the Bugis community.
  41. Muzium Nelayan Tanjung Balau: Kota Tinggi > the only museum in Asia that showcases the life and heritage of traditional fishermen in Malaysia. Opened in 1992 near the site of a former fishing village. 
  42. Muzium Nenas : Pontian >  a museum dedicated to Pineapple plantation and processing industry which is located in Pekan Nanas, Pontian District, Johor, Malaysia. It was inaugurated by Johor Chief Minister Abdul Ghani Othman on 21 May 2002. 
  43. Nasuha Herbs & Spices Paradise, Muar: more than 135 types of herbs are cultivated and processed here. It is one of the biggest herb and spice plantations in the world
  44. Old Street Commercial Centre :  in Batu Pahat, Johor, is a shopping and dining destination known for its blend of modern and traditional architecture. It features a distinctive V-shaped layout with shops and eateries on the ground floor. The area also includes instagrammable spots like street art and a rooftop garden.
  45. Pantai Stulang LautThis beach is visited by many people especially in the afternoon and on weekends or public holidays. This beach area is located within Johor Bahru City and is near the old Johor Bahru immigration and customs complex after a new, more sophisticated and larger complex was built near Bukit Cagar.
  46. Pasar Karat JB: literally means Rust Market in Malay, actually the colloquial term for the flea market. Pasar Karat in JB is more bazaar than flea market as it offers anything and everything  from antiques and vintage collectibles to clothig, toys, books, food stalls and more.

  53. Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque: - Johor Bahru, Johor > One of the most beautiful old mosque in Malaysia, took 8 years to build and was completed in 1900.
  54. Sultan Ibrahim Building: - Johor Bahru, Johor > constructed between 1936 & 1939,located on a hill called Bukit Timbalan. The building's distinguished facade combines a mix of both colonial and Malay architectural elements. 
  55. Sungai Bantang, Bekok Waterfall: established in 1989, located at Bekok, Johor, a variety of activities can be conducted, and among them are forest cross-country, jungle tracking, camp and picnic.
  56. Sungai Johor & Sungai Lebam Fireflies: located at Kota Tinggi, about 91 km from Johor Bahru > firefly sighting is a throughly enjoyable experience after sunset. 
  57. Sungai Lebam FirefliesSungai Lebam, located in Bandar Penawar,  Johor, Malaysia, is renowned for its firefly colonies that congregate in the mangrove swamp, particularly around Berembang trees. Taman Negara Endau - Rompin: about 50 km from Rompin town, is a protected tropical rainforest situated within a massif in the southern foothills of the Tenasserim Hills. Endau-Rompin is one of the oldest tropical rainforest complexes in the world and features rock formations some 248 million years old. 
  61. Taman Negara Gunung Ledang :a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers, known for its rich biodiversity, challenging trails, and captivating legends. The park surrounds Johor's tallest mountain, Mount Ledang (also known as Mount Ophir), and is a crucial water catchment area.

  65. Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm : The Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm was established in 1950 for the conservation and breeding of crocodiles. The crocodiles are not killed for their meat or skins. It was opened to visitors in 1997. It’s the largest one in peninsular Malaysia.
