MALAYSIAN MILITARY PEOPLE

  1. Abbas bin Abdul Manan, Lt.Kolonel : The first Malay Commanding Officer, 4th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment. He was also the only surviving officer at the Battle of Pasir Panjang in 1942.
  2. Abdul Aziz bin Hj Mohamad Hassan, Pilot Officer: Malayan Auxillary Air Force, the first Malayan to received Air Wing, 19 November 1955. 
  3. Abdul Hamid Bidin, Lt. Gen. Tan Sri  : Chief of Staff of the Malaysian Army - the first Malaysian to attend courses at Staff College, Camberley, and first NCO reaching the rank of General.
  4. Abdul Hamid bin Yusof, Major : an officer with Timbalan Setia Negeri Johor listed in the London Gazette on March 13, 1918.
  5. Abdul Jamil Paduka Raja, Laksamana Tun :  A Malay warrior of Johor Sultanate, played a major role in trying to wrest Malacca from Portuguese control.
  6. Abdullah bin Shamsudin, Lt.Gen Datuk  : One of the first groups of 11 Officers commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant to serve the Federation Regiment which was established in 1952.
  7. Abu Bakar bin Abdullah, Lieutenant : A Company, 2nd Battalion Malay Regiment, Malaya WW2.
  8. Abu Bakar bin Narat, Lieutenant : 1st Battalion Federation Regiment , kill 2 communist terrorist at Bahau, N. Sembilan on July 17, 1957.
  9. Abu Hassan bin Abdullah, Major : first Commanding Officer Malaysian Special Forces, Feb.23, 1965.
  10. Adnan bin Saidi, 2nd Lieutenant : C Company, 1st Battalion Malay Regiment – killed in action at Battle of Pasir Panjang, Singapore, 1942.
  11. Ahmad bin Johan :  first Malay appointed Adjutant of the 1st Battalion Ranger Regiment.
  12. Ahmad Rodi bin Zakaria, Lt.Colonel : First Commanding Officer 11th Special Forces Regiment, 1982.
  13. Amiruddin Bin Mustapha Albakri, Major : One of the first groups of 11 Officers commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant to served the Federation Regiment which was established in 1952.

  17. Asna bin Mohd Sutan, Brig.Gen Datuk  : One of the first groups of 11 Officers commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant to served the Federation Regiment which was established in 1952. Squadron Leader C, 2nd Reconnaissance Regiment at Congo, 1962.
  18. Baljit Singh, :Lieutenant : 1st Battalion Federation Regiment – led operation on July 17, 1957 at Bahau, N.Sembilan and killed 2 communist terrorist.
  19. Basil Leong, Flight Lieutenant : Flight Instructor Malayan Auxillary Air Force in Penang in 1950's. 
  20. Borhan bin Ahmad, Colonel : The first Commanding Officer 21st Special Service Regiment (21 RGK) , 1970.
  21. Chua Ban Hin, Pilot Officer : among the earlier Malayan Auxillary Air Force to received the Air Wing in 1958. 
  22. Chua Koon Eng : Force 136 – captured by the Japanese Kempetai on March 24, 1944.
  23. Daud Hj Sulaiman : first Malay Officer of Askar Timbalan Setia Negeri Johor (Johore Military).
  24. Dustan Nyaring Angking, Colonel : the first native Iban to attain the rank of full Colonel in Malaysian Army.
  25. Fabian Wong Boon Soon, Lt.Colonel : Intelligence Officer Rajang Area Security Command (RASCOM), Sibu, Sarawak in the 70’s.
  26. Ghazali bin Ibrahim, Lt. Muda : Among the first 15 selected and a pioneer of the Malaysian Special Force, 1965. The first Commanding Officer of 22nd Rejimen Gerup Gerakhas Malaysia (Colonel). 1977.
  27. Harchand Singh, Major : Squadron A 1st Reconnaissance Regiment at Congo,1962.
  28. Harun bin Taib, Brig. Gen Datuk  : the first Commander of the Malaysian Special Group, 1981.
  29. Hasbullah bin Yusoff, Brig. Gen Datuk  : Commander of the Malaysian 3rd Infantry Brigade, died in a NURI crash at Sungai Lundu, Sarawak on Dec. 18, 1989.
  30. Hashim bin Rauf, Prebet : First Malaysian inducted into the HQ 355 Field Security Section (FSS), a unit of the British Army Intelligence in 1953.
  31. Hassan bin Din, Leftenan : The first Malay to attend course at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, England and the first Malay to be the Director of Music Royal Malay Regiment.

  34. Hussein bin Hashim, Kapten : representing the Royal Malay Regiment to received the Regiment Color from His Majesty The Yang Di Pertuan Agong on March 23, 1963.
  35. Hussin bin Awang Senik, Kolonel : Among the first 15 selected & a pioneer of the Malaysian Special Forces, 1965. The first Commandant of the Special Warfare Training Centre, 1977.
  36. Ibrahim bin Ali Ditta, Leftenan : The only Malay officers awarded Military Cross in World War II.
  37. Ibrahim bin Ismail, Lt. Gen. Dato’  : the first Malaysian to take command of 6th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment and the Chief of Staff Malaysian Armed Forces.
  38. Jaswant Singh, Pilot Officer: among the earlier Malayan Auxillary Air Force to received the Air Wing in 1958, then transferred to Royal Federation Air Force. 
  39. Johari bin Mohd Siraj, L/Koperal : Among the first 15 selected & a pioneer of the Malaysian Special Forces, 1965.
  40. Kanang ak Langkau, P.W. 2 : 8th Battalion Royal Malaysian Rangers – the only person to have received both the Panglima Gagah Berani and Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa.
  41. Khalid bin Hashim, Lt. Kolonel : the first Malaysian to command the Port Dickson Garrison and Royal Malay Regiment Depot.
  42. Khalid bin Mohd Yassin, Lt. Kolonel : first Malay to be Commanding Officer of 7th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment.
  43. Khong Kim Kong, Lt. Kolonel : One of the first group of 11 Officers commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant to served  the Federation Regiment which was established in 1952.

  48. Lim Bo Seng : Force 136 – anti Japanese Resistance Fighter based in Malaya and Singapore, WW2.
  49. Linus Lunsong, Lt. Kolonel : The first Iban to command 22nd Malaysian Special Forces, 1966.
  50. Low Lai Fook, Leftenan : 1st Battalion Federation Regiment – led and operation on July 17, 1957 at Bahau, N. Sembilan and killed 2 communist terrorist.
  51. Low Seng Hye, Pilot Officer : Malayan Auxillary Air Force received Air Wing from Penang Governer Raja Tun Uda on November 1958. 
  52. Low Tung Yeow, Leftenan : Reconnaissance Troop at Congo, 1961
  53. Mahmood bin Sulaiman, Lt.Kolonel : The first Commanding Officer 9th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment.
  54. Maniam Moorthy, Koperal : Malaysian Commando – one of the Malaysian Everest Team in 1997, died on Dec.20, 2005.
  55. Md Yusof bin Yaakob, L/Koperal : 6th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment, were killed in the explosion at Kindu Airport, Congo, in 1961.
