UFO - Unidentified Flying Object
Our world is full of various mysterious events. Many mysteries have occurred until now, no one can give the real answer.
Among them is UFO, an unidentified flying object that has been widely discussed, especially in Western countries, and many movies about UFOs have been filmed.

But did you know that UFOs have also been seen in our country, Malaysia. Among those that have been recorded in Malaysia are:
  1. 1951 - the earliest report in Malaysia about UFOs was on February 1, 1951 in Perak when a European farmer saw a flying object in Taiping.
  2. 1952 - Several residents in Pattani Road, Penang saw a blue flying saucer hovering in the air. The same happened in Seremban and Batu Pahat in September 1952 and also in Kuching, Sarawak and in Melaka.
  3. March 1954 - UFOs were reported to appear in Port Klang.
  4. January 1967 - residents in Gombak and Kg Dato Keramat claimed to see objects moving in the sky.
  5. August 1970 - six young boys at Stowell Primary School in Bukit Mertajam, Penang claimed to see a tiny flying saucer - only about a sixe of a large plate - land in the schoolyard. The 3-inch aliens emerged with laser pistols.
  6. October 8, 1974 - 3 students of grade 6 SK TUDM in Kuantan, Pahang claimed to see aliens in their school...
  7. October 10, 1977 - a gray object was seen flying slowly in Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur.
  8. April 1979 - UFO was seen flying in Green Lane, P. Pinang.
  9. May 19, 1979 - several students of Jit Sin Primary School in Bukit Mertajam, P. Pinang were surprised by a UFO landing in their school compound. A week later the same object also appeared in Kg. Naga Lilit, Kulim, Kedah.
  10. June 13, 1980 - UFO ships are said to be the cause of house and shop fires in Port Klang. Residents claimed to see UFOs emitting flames and destroying several houses and shops there.
  11. 7 August 1981 - UFO sighting witnessed by 3 children in Skudai, Johor.
  12. 9 May 1985 - UFO reported in Kg Teluk Lipat, Dungun, Terengganu
  13. December 1985 - 3 witnesses report seeing UFO on Karak Highway
  14. September 1995: Villagers at Tg.Sepat, Selangor described seeing a massive craft the size of a football field and as tall al a multi-story building.
  15. October 2002: Air Trafic Controllers (ATCs) Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, spotted a large, cigar-shaped object on their radar screens that was reportedly bigger that a Fokker airliner. The local moniker "Flying Coffin" was likely used by the media and local to emphasize the object's long, rectagular shape and add a touch of local spookiness.
  16. 2016 - villagers in a remote part of Kuala Krai, Kelantan filmed a massive, circular craft with a bright center circling low over the trees.
September 1995 sightings at Tg.Sepat,Selangor

The 1995 UFO sighting at Tanjung Sepat Laut (near Sepang, Selangor) is considered one of Malaysia's most significant "mass sightings." It occurred between September and October 1995 and dominated national headlines for weeks.

Key Details of the Event
  • The Object: Villagers described a massive craft, roughly the size of a football field and as tall as a multi-story building. It featured flashing red, green, and yellow lights moving in a circular motion.
  • Frequency: The object was reportedly seen on at least four separate occasions, often hovering silently about 100 meters above the forest before vanishing instantly.
  • The Occupants: This case is unique because witnesses claimed to have seen the beings. They were described as being approximately 60 cm (2 feet) tall, with long ears and distinct red eyes.
  • Location: Tanjung Sepat Laut, which is notably close to where the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) stands today.
Aftermath and Official Response
Despite the intense local media coverage, the official response was skeptical:
  • The Air Force: Stated that no unusual objects were detected on their air defense radar screens during that period.
  • Space Science Studies: Dr. Mazlan Othman, then-Director-General of the Space Science Studies Division, suggested that the villagers might have been misidentifying natural phenomena or celestial bodies like planets.
  • Lasting Impact: The incident sparked enough public interest to lead to Malaysia’s first-ever national UFO conference, though no physical evidence (photos or videos) ever surfaced to verify the claims.
1. The "Flying Coffin" of Kota Kinabalu (2002)
This sighting is unique because it wasn't just reported by villagers, but by professional Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).
  • The Sighting: In October 2002, ATCs spotted a large, cigar-shaped object on their radar screens that was reportedly bigger than a Fokker airliner.
  • The Description: Ground personnel, including security guards, saw the object rising from the sea. It moved silently and at incredible speeds over Terminal 2 before disappearing behind the nearby hills.
  • Why "Flying Coffin"? While "cigar-shaped" is the standard UFO term, the local moniker "flying coffin" (keranda terbang) was likely used by the media and locals to emphasize the object's long, rectangular shape and add a touch of local spookiness.
  • Status: The Department of Civil Aviation never provided a formal explanation, though Malaysia Airports Berhad (MAB) reportedly acknowledged it as a genuine unidentified sighting.
